... the architecture and the paintings etc are amazing, but the way in which you're rushed from room to room and then spat out the back door like an unwelcome house guest ruins the whole experience. I'll be happy to go to Fussen again, I'll even give you directions to the castles. When you get back I'll be in a pub in the old city drinking cold Bavarian bier, and looking forward to hearing about how "great" the castles were...I'll even be able to get us directions back to the train station. ...

The lady that told us about the Monastery, also told us about Füssen and the Castle which is apparently Walt Disney's inspiration for Cinderella's Castle, we thought we would go have a look....

We arrived at around 1pm, the place was packed, car parks were full etc. etc.

We got in the queue for tickets, and from our point there was a 40minute queue, and at that time the next available slots ...

Woke up in our lovely room and down for a really nice breakfast. Packed up again... Picked up our pure booked ticket from hotel and drove short distance up to castles. ... the sound of the water running down its bed. The current was strong due to previous several rainy days and thus heralds a rather physical morning.

We were given a complete equipement : thick wetsuit -together with socks - which reassured me as I thought water was possibily snow melting down - helmet, harness and snap hooks. Stefan explained how to abseil and made us try on a wooden wall.
