Today we visited the Dachau Concentration Camp. We had breakfast on the run as we made our way to the underground train station. We were heading to the main train station in Munich. For once Google maps didn't live up to very high standard. It informed us that we could only take a certain train to the main station, and it was running late. We later found out that every train that went past us (there was at least 5) all stopped at the main station. Anywho, ...

Quiet day today had another sleep in, it's wet and cold outside but forcing ourselves to go see the last couple of attractions on our list. The first was a roman style museum and gallery called the Glyptothek commissioned by King Ludwig 1 in 1816 to house his personal collection of roman sculptures. The second was another museum across the road which had Roman artefacts like, jewellery, pots & suits ...

For the last week I have been in Germany. From Brugge I caught the train to Brussels, then onto Cologne. I had four nights in Cologne which were restful. Brugge and Edinburgh before that had been busy often with late nights and early mornings. The main sight in Cologne, also very hard to miss is the Cologne Cathedral, it is Roman Gothic style. The original cathedral at this site was built in 800. It was rebuilt in 1248 to make a larger, grander building. There ...

... and cheeses for sale. I love the local feel of all these markets and shops we have come upon in Europe. Much less commercialized than America. But also this place is definitely more foreign to us. Not as much English being spoken and most the street signs are strictly German. A new fun experience to work out Munich should be. After looking at some shops and Bryan a ridiculously overpriced base-layer vest we head across the river to the Wirsthaus in Der Hu. One of ...

... later found out was the "New Town Hall". Next I tried to visit St. Peter's Church but there was a sign that said services were in progress and to come back later. I walked through the Viktualienmarkt which is a large outdoor farmers market. I had almost no money so I just looked. I went back toward the church and found another church, which I took a peak into. This church was the Heiliggeistkirche, and was marvelous to behold. It blew all ...
