The day started with a walk along the beach, we stopped to speak to a lady who was chatting to a younger man. They were both British and were interested in our travels. We passed the tavernas of which a couple were open and at the end of the beach where the waves were reaching the top we cut through to the road. ... My family puts coins in cheese pies as well. Afterwards, young people mainly go out to bars and clubs and have fun.
On the 1st OF JANUARY, families meet again for lunch. Saint Basil celebrates on this day too.
There are two more feasts after this. The Epiphany / Theophany on the 6th Jan (when we celebrate the vaptism of Jesus)and the celebration of Saint John on the 7th Jan. This is the last day of the children’s Christmas holiday.
