We arrived at Llanes and it took 5 hours to drive to Lanes. It was so boring.
When we got there we realized that there were cats.
They were so cute and there was also donkeys, cows and sheep.
The next day we went to some blow holes.
Llanes, at the top of Spain was a stopover that surprised us with its quiet, relaxing village life, dramatic views of the mountain range and interesting coastline with its many inlets and beaches.
The quaint apartment was in a small village that was surrounded by farms with an abundance of animals including cows, donkeys, emus, turtles and lots of cats for the kids to try to pat.

It is lovely to see the way the Bilbao city planners are transformimg the town on from its industrial past into a city showcasing modern art. The town has many interesting sculptures dotted around, and of course the Guggenheim is the jewel in the crown. Entry to Llanes was spectacular. After driving 500km in 5 hrs the rain hit. 150mm in 30 mins. The town went under with police directing you away from the city. The last 10km took 1 1/2 hrs. Thank goodness the town drains quickly. The apartmentent is on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the centre of town. People watching beccomes an artform. Parking in the garage is interesting fitting the car with 50mm each side. Have to fold ...
