The city centre is just beautiful- and old. In Hitler's days it was known as the cultural centre of Germany and visited by him. It is also known as Brunswick. We visited the Dome- a church built in 1250, and the Schloss- a castle which was bombed in World War II, rebuilt and made into an ultra ...

Looked around the town, had expensive, not-so-good coffee on the touristy main square (staff was a bit snooty too). When I asked whether they had wifi for the guests, she looked at me like I had just escaped from a lunatic asylum. No wifi anywhere in this whole Harz region, not that I could find anyway.

Lots of rain kind of limited the options ...
