The following day we were preparing to leave and our train took us back to Brussels and we changed to the Eurostar back to St Pancras in London. We then said goodbye to Mike and Jen and changed to the tube to return to Heathrow. Our BA flight took us to Hong Kong for 2 nights before returning home.
What a wonderful experience and fabulous trip !!

... ride with the canal on the left and a row of trees along the path to the right. There were quite a few people on the path but it was still very pleasant. We also saw a couple of people swimming in the canal. Not bathers, swimmers with their caps and goggles.
After the Vlissingen Affair or as shall hence be referred to as "The Flushing" of cyclists with bad directions, we had all Googled and investigated our way to the hotel. I ...
... with matching smells. It seemed a little hokey at the time, but in retrospect, it gave a really good perspective on life in those times. Right outside the building was the main market square. Great sausages, cheeses, bread, vegetables and grilled food for an al fresco lunch.

Shikha and I both ordered the house beer which is so potent that they only allow you to order 3 in total! The beer came with a small bowel of cheese and some mustard to dip it in. Pure heaven. The beer was actually really nice. Full bodied and rich and I ended up ordering 2 more while Shikha changed to another local brew.
As the beers went down the conversation on our table grew more vocal. We talked about our travels and Busabout like we were sales agents ...
... up and around the grounds on our own- but the downfall was that the shuttles were closed. I swear I was about to pass out and die from the steep hike up. My face was still red the following morning- but such a cool place.
Then on the Heidelberg, Germany, where we stayed the night.
We hit a bakery for a fresh cheap breakfast, then toured the Heidelberg grounds and castle. I want a castle.
