We woke up this morning and grabbed a train to Brugge- with our student tickets it only cost us about 20euro return (can't quite remember). We had our packed lunch so we had that on the train with us. Brugge was very pretty- I would have much fathered stay here than Antwerp (Antwerp was nice but just a plain clean city). ... we had the nicest guide; an older woman who expressed her pride in Brugge, its rich history, and of course the beer that used to be brewed there (it is now made in a larger brewery in the town). We walked through tight hallways and climbed steep stairways to enjoy a view of the whole town. At the end of the tour, we sampled the local unfiltered version of Half Moon's newest beer, Brugge Zot. It was a delicious blend of orange, hops and other ...
... bar, and deliberates over proceedings - "Alice, I think table 6 has finished and might want sweets" - "How are you Mrs Jones, have you met Barry? He was in Outer Mongolia the same time you were there" - "Barry, come over here and meet Mrs Jones!!! I love the place. If I look longingly enough at the barmaids, dog treats arrive.

... to be popular at the plaza. I joined the long queue and waited for about 1/2hr to go to the top of the tower. Eventually, I was the last a few ppl that got the tickets just before closing. After climbing up 336 steps, the panorama view was breathtaking!!! It would be even better without the metal net they put on the windows.
