... We decided to head back down to the lake at Trubsee the station where you switch from the 1st to 2nd cable ways and spend some time there.

Despite Kirst and I not getting to sing "the hills are alive with the sound of music" at the top of Titlis our first day in Switzerland has been great. The quote for the day has to be the young American couple walking past us the guy asking "is that a natural feature" and the girls replying "what the Eifel Tower"

... and we even managed to score a bed! The next day (1st August) is National Swiss Day, so we had timed our visit very well. The whole town shuts for the day and is filled with stalls that sell all types of food and drink. It was a nice relaxing afternoon and evening with Lorna's friends. All topped off with fireworks at home. The following day was a day of relaxing and getting on top of the blog, washing etc!

... but our legs want more oxygen so huff and puff we are doing. We can now see down a huge valley back towards where we started and the pass in sight in front of us. This is not going to be easy! We climb over a small hill and can now see down to Lake Luzern and where we started yesterday in Fleulen. looking down is certainly better than looking up at where we have to go. ... at ZRH on schedule, 7:45 am, and after getting through customs we were greeted by our Aunt Beth.

We did mix up the "First Day Schedule" a little bit. The normal routine, according to Grandpa John, is to have the "Welcome Champagne" upon arrival at the Baker residence, take a 2 hour nap and then head to Zug for cocktails.
