... later we did loose control, spinning across the track and onto the grass. Luckly for us we did not hit anything solid. All we got to show for our off road excursion was mud and grass on the car.
Arrived in Koblenz late in the afternoon. Checked into the Mercure hotel. Very nice and roomy of the Ibis in Brugge.
Our next desination is Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
Till next time
Short entry this time....
Only here for one night. Got to the hotel saw a couple of shops with beersteins, birkenstocks and clocks. Had dinner and watched some feral women proceed to get ****** and act like idiots in the hotel bar. Some good news though, won 30 euro on the slot machine in the hotel.
One of the guys (we assume it was a guy) even peed in the hotel hallway and our Tour Manager had to clean it up. People can be such animals.

... of course) and the Castle is on top of a huge hill (of course). Did I mention the cab was a brand new Mercedes?
At any rate, we got to our wonderful Castle and were hoping for no rain the next day so we could take a boat trip... no such luck. The rain has returned on our trip. Instead, we took the train up to Koblenz. The entire river is littered with castles. Most have them have been converted into hotels it seems. And the towns along the ...
This is not a great adventure, more a welcome back.
It is great to be back in Villiprott to visit our old friends since the 70ies. Now I have been staying with them for two weeks and we have done a lot of different things. This part of Germany have many interesting places to visit, both nature and culture.
... and Amsterdam in Netherlands. Philip and Lawrence both took their cars over for the tour, with highlight of the Nürbergring racetrack. As they say, what happens on tour stays on tour, but we had a brilliant time. Here's a few pictures and video's from the Germany part of the trip, courtesy of Elias, who had the commonsense to bring a camera.

The Loreley (lorelei) is a 132m high slate cliff near the town of St Goarshausen and at this point the the Rhine is 25m deep and only 113m wide making it the most dangerous places for ships passing in the upper middle Rhine Valley. ... of time and searched for an ATM. There was a track change so we had to ask a few questions and ended up departing a few minutes late. Left luggage at the front of the car for the first time and were a little nervous about it but it worked out fine. I expected Thalys to be a direct train but there were 2 stops before Köln. We ate sandwiches we had made from our grocery trip in Brussels and relaxed ...
Koblenz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany canadian_couple... The views of European countryside flew right past at 186 mph. I only got 2 hours of the country before I was in Brussels' Midi station. Midi station is massive, a hub for most Western European train services. From Brussels, I hopped on a train to Koblenz, my first official stop in Germany. I arrived in Koblenz at 9:30pm, just enough time to secure my reserved bed at the "Jugendherberge Festung Ehrenbreitstein" hostel in Koblenz.
