    Saying Goodbye to New Friends

... back to the 16th, when one monk from Switzerland arrived in the valley. Today there is again only one monk, who runs the monastery more as a business, with a farm, horses, restaurant, guest house, vegetable garden and wine cellar. We got to visit the wine cellar during our short visit. Back in the vans it was off to Feldkirch for our last meal together at Schattenberg Castle. We had to have the famous 30 cm schnitzel ...

Patrick promised something special for our last day, and as usual, he didn't disappoint. With rain predicted for the early afternoon, Patrick was keen to get on the mountain early. Bob was adventurous, trying venison sausage, with ...

Hello Everyone. Today we packed up from our gorgeous apartment in Milan to drive into Switzerland and then Austria. It was an amazing drive through the Swiss alps with huge mountains and green grassy valleys. There were gorges so deep with amazing rivers and streams rushing below. Waterfalls came down the mountainsides at every bend in the winding road. The houses were quaint little chalets all with window boxes full of gorgeous colourful flowers. ...

... was surreal. Strolling about the waterfront we stole moments of an outdoor movie hundreds had come to see, then headed back to our hostel overlooking the water with crisp sheets and unisex bathrooms. We are too excited to sleep, so I’m writing to all of you… but Kenny has just informed me he actually fits in the single bed and therefore his love for the Swiss is reaffirmed so we better jump ...
