Fuhren 439 Lauterbrunnen, Bernese Oberland, Swiss Alps, Switzerland, 3822, 41-33-855-30-26
Ausserbinn, Switzerland lesterenanne... on some prior ski trips to similar altitutdes. Perhaps it's due to the gradual acclimation via the trains, etc. However, back to the view... it was spectacular. If you enjoy mountains, it doesn't likely get much better than this. Our day was a fairly clear one as well.

When we arrived at Interlaken we then had to take an extended series of trains, lifts, buses, etc. to get to our eventual destination which was Schilthorn ...
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland trockie... International Bureau of Education, but just ending up using their reception phone to call people, and then was given a new e-mail address to send my request to. (Friday night I started my ISP work log and realized I have sent out 31 different e-mails trying to get interviews). After interview begging I went to the UN library to prepare for my interview the next day, and afterwards my friend Molly and I went to a piano recital at the UN put on ...
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland chelseyineurope... in the basement floor...random. ha! Then we caught a train to Interlaken and arrived pretty late (I wanted to shoot myself for getting on the train so late at night...because we couldn't see the scenery on the way to Interlaken!) But we've been here for two days now, and we leave tomorrow night. The night we arrived we ran into some of our friends who were staying in the same hostel....it was quite frankly, one of the worst ...
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland elizabethleland... mountains, crunching through frozen puddles and the melting and falling off the trees..ahhh.... At I decided I would get the gondola up to Schilthorn... its the 2nd highest mountain in the area. On the other side was Jungfraujoch which has the highest railway station in Europe but it was horrendously expensive!! It was -6 up there but lovely and sunny BUT guess who didnt have her sunglasses. Talk about snow blinding myself! ouch!!! I played out in ...
Lauterbrunnen, Swiss Alps, Switzerland emmasadventuresI wasn't sure where in Switzerland I wanted to go after Zurich, but I knew I wanted it to be near some mountains and away from crowds. The hostel I found was highly recommended and was in a valley in the mountains near Interlaken, so that’s what made my decision. Turns out my somewhat random choice was a good one, putting me in one of the most beautiful areas in Switzerland, according to some ...
Lauterbrunnen, Swiss Alps, Switzerland tidolu14... did a small but nice hike in the mountains the next day. It’s crazy how you lose your hiking skills really quickly. I felt like i was going to fall over every step I took. All over the valley, we could see para-sailers in the sky, it would have been awesome to try except it the damage was at least $170 each... bummer.

http://picasaweb.google. com/lh/photo/_RXGGfa-cjNcaDADRk_4xA?aut hkey=Gv1sRgCMTOwqr-zZGObA&feat=dire ctlink
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland sofenjon... top finishes inside the mountain and the pressure we had to adjust to was unexpected. We were given all the warnings about what to expect when you are 11000ft up a mountain but it was still more difficult than I thought. When you are outside on the glacier it doesn't feel so bad but in the tunnels we all struggled with the dizziness. Inside the mountain/glacier they have an ice palace carved straight into the ice. It wasn't as slippery as ...
Lauterbrunnen, Swiss Alps, Switzerland bjgibson... locals farming and chatting to each other. The views from the top were unbelievable-it felt like we were able to reach out and touch the tops of the mountains! I wanted to buy some real Alpine cheese but the two different places were out for the day with signs saying "Out gathering hay"! Very basic town but so nice.

The ride back down the cable car was a bit scarier than the way up and got a few gasps from the people on board; we enjoyed being able to see red ...
Lauterbrunnen, Swiss Alps, Switzerland armajor7... in the town of Wil. In addition, they seem to have pretty good deals on used Mercedes station wagons, if you are in the market.
When I arrived at the shop in the next town, the filler cap was waiting for us at the front desk. All that for less than 4 bucks.
We continued on our way back into Austria, and then into Germany. That is where we are now, camped in a grocery store parking lot about 80km from Neuschwanstein.
