It's home is Belgium - a place famous for it's neutrality; aptly I can't quite decide if I love it or hate it. So I've settled for an average rating. As an arty person much of my opinion of place is based on their paintings, sculpture or architecture and having come from Paris, Bruges just didn't match up. Do give it a chance, it will be exactly what you want it to be but I won't be heading back anytime soon.
Well, it's only taken me a week, but I've finally found the time and energy to sit down and write a bit about our stay in Belgium so far....It's been a bit of a whirl wind with no signs of slowing down for at least another week; but with only the weekends and evenings to explore Gent and other areas of Europe, we're taking every chance we get to experience the true European lifestyle.

Day 34 - Paris to Bruges
After waking up at 7am to catch our 8am bus, the meeting point for Busabout was at hostel not too far from our hotel, yet we still caught a taxi to be safe, and just as well, the hostel was hidden in a backstreet which was even a challenge for the cab drivers GPS.
