    35 kms AM - A nice sunny ride out of Kelheim this morning along the north side of the Danube, no sign of rain! A lot of cycling is along the top of levee banks on firm gravel.     Had a sleep in then walked into the township, checked out the church, another beautiful building, walked out into the countryside, back to the boat.

    ... streets and colourful arches, loads of colour everywhere and a huge festival being set up that we cycled around and ogled at how big it was. The town is also surrounded on all sides by canals so it looks like an island on the map.     This morning we opted for a sleep in. There was a walking tour leaving at 9 through the town of Regensburg, however we decided to sleep in and at our own pace tour the town (our own pace means the walking tours are painfully slow.

    We walked to the far side of the town to the former Benedictine Abbey St Emmeram and the Princely Palace of Thurn und Taxis. Very impressive. ...
