... that Lyon was a trade partner of Venice in long past days and the Venetian influence is very strong even in this 21st century.

Walking back from the old city we see a small Bateau Ferry and jump aboard for a gentle cruise down the river which is very relaxing and the tension starts to lift. The city is quite beautiful as dusk descends. The lovely young woman who collects the tickets is from South America and so friendly and helpful giving me ...

Good job Fidel. Awesome dinner in Marseille but our stop ...

... higlight of the trip was the visit to Carcassonne and thought the medieval city was magical. I think we all agreed it was a trip worth taking and could repeat it on another stretch of the canal quite happily.
John and Wndy's last day was spent at poolside at a lovely campsite we found just outside of Toulouse in Puyssegur 'Camping Namaste' a lovely woodland location where there was true peace and quiet away from the busy city of ...

    Eiffel tower with some wine

A travel blog entry by mike_wiechecki on Mar 10, 2012

... night come in at the top (324m up). Eiffel had an apartment at the top where he would hold parties! It was really windy and cold at the top. We went down and watched the light show on the tower which occurs every hour.

The next morning we went and saw the main church in Montmarte- it was really nice and offered really good views of Paris. It was a sunny clear day for a change. After we headed to the Louvre. We bought an audio tour ...
