We arrived in Heidelberg late this afternoon. Heidelberg is the crown jewel town of southwestern Germany- Mark Twain came here and made it famous for Americans, and German artists of every type have sung its praises. I can't disagree, it's stunning. And cold. And I can also FULLY recommend their Thai food, since I discovered I'd rather stick a fork in my eye than partake in more German strudel, shnitzel, or spatzle, so we had a lovely dinner at a Thai joint in ...

... while ambling back from the Volksfest. There's a building just outside the gate that we've been wondering about. We'd asked and heard something about little animals and events. Even walked by, looked like there were a lot of people inside. I saw a box for a menu, but it was empty. ... als den Faden zu verlieren während der Vorstellung kann ich auch nicht. So übermannte mich das immergleiche Gefühl der Neugier und Spannung, als ich das Klassenzimmer betrat. On our drive back we spotted a castle ruin high above the autobahn and tried to find it. We climbed up a steep and winding hill through wine fields to the castle gates, which were locked. A sign posted on the gates stated that the castle is private property and trespassers will be fined. Unfortunately this is the only thing I took pictures of from our entire trip.

Caught a night train from Vienna and arrived in Stuttgardt in the morning. Had a great day wandering and seeing the sights. Yet another map from yet another tourist info place. More statues and old buildings (Boring right? Not by a long shot). Still walking around wide-eyed like kids at Disneyland.

... difficult to park. They had a wine fest here as well! We were quite looking forward to an evening drinking wine and listening to some music but unfortunatelly they packed up everything at 6pm and all of the people dissapeared. Two restaurants stayed open and only one of them serving food. Ended up having a quite evening watching "What the women want" in german.

... if it is cold because I am in a mountain region.
