... hours and forty-five minutes of it, with a nap in between. As we started our descent into Geneva, I pulled open the window shade and looked out at the snow-speckled ground. It didn't look like much at first, but as we got lower and closer to the city, these mountains grew out of nowhere! Geneva is surrounded by the Alps and the Jura. ... I settled into this seat, I started to choke up again. I had a four hour layover at this next station, what if it was just like these? No, stop, Bern is a well known city. That train station is bound to have food, an indoor area, clean chairs, and tons of foot traffic. Wrong again, Salazar.

As I reached the Bern station, my heart stopped. We pulled into a station with an advertised indoor area, under construction. Everything was outside, and once you went up ...

Jacques and Kathy were flying to Sweden to sail their yacht around the Swedish islands for a few weeks. Their two dogs, Senna and Freja soon became our best friends. Taking three walks a day through the vineyards, creeks, forests and rural towns. ...
