This beautiful castle built on the River Cher was home to five different ladies between 1499-1836; Diane De Poitiers, Catherine de Medici, Louise of Lorraine, Louise Dupin and Marguerite Pelouze. There were 2 rooms devoted to the Joan of Arc collections and a film of her life was projected onto one wall and fireplace. It was very impressive. We were able to amble round at our own pace, due to the fact that there were very few tourists other than ourselves.
