... a couple of rounds of the marina area we finally found a short term park. There are some amazing boats there, they're huge and must be worth millions of dollars.

After stopping in an overnight aire (French rest area) we visited Cannes the next day. Parking was easy to find there but a little bit out of the main area so we took Scoot. ...

... headed back to the car as it was time for the beach. We drove for about 10 minutes out of town to Pampelonne and went to Cap21 Les Murenes which is a private beach where you hire beach chairs and sun umbrellas (20 euro, 5 euro respectively). Drinks had at the bar before Toni took her time on the chair and Tony and the kids went into the water which to be honest was a little cold. After about an hour we headed to the snack bar for a drink and in the car for home. Traffic this way ...

The drive in total from Grenoble to St. Tropez was close to 5hrs. ...

... 5 or 10 Euros and some things 2 for 5 Euros, like shoes, handbags and swimming costumes. We cycled to La Grand Motte which was a really ugly concrete jungle and pleased we had picked the aire we were on - beach and town a stone throws away. The end of September, the grapes still on the vines and we are off to Loupian, a very typical French village near to Meze. We had a cycle track to keep us fit and buses to Montpellier, Beziers and Sete. The easiest place to get to on ...

... Also had lots of "Go Canada go" It was a tough but very satisfying day. Because of our climbing speed we did not actually arrive at the hotel until almost 7:30. We are just back from a very pleasant dinner, and facing the last two days of our great adventure. Tomorrow's ride is only 73 km into Cannes, so I do not think we will depart early. I will report on our observation of the movie stars in Cannes ...
