After dinner, the tide is coming in so we take another walk up to watch that as well as out along the bridge again to see the water around the base of the ramparts. It really is an amazing place. It was built in the 8th century by Bishop Aubert who lived in a town nearby and built the monastery after he was visited by the Archangel Michael who told him to visit it.
