    ... reason: too many people!

Some statistics (for the fans of you):

Each year the Keukenhof plants around 7,000 bulbs and after the season throws them all away (what a terrible waste) in order to prevent deseases.

In each hole they plant 3 bulbs. One early, one normal and one late blossomer.

There are around 25 gardeners during the year and around 50 during high season that take care of this wonderful garden. ...

... still partying when I left, but I was dead by this point (they party so much longer and harder in Europe!) The next morning, I got up, took a shower, and when I came out I met my new dorm mates - they were four guys, all in their early 20's, from Italy. They didn't speak much English, although we chatted a bit (or tried to) then I left to go do my own thing. I went back to Dam square and did a little shopping (got one of those cartoon drawings done of myself!) and ...

... between Dad, Hans and Honey at least. Daniel and I smiled and nodded every now and then, and threw in a couple of discrete 'schlaucheijkns' to each other, to keep up appearances! More seriously, it was really nice to meet them, and there was enough English there for us to at least be able to connect a bit, even if we couldn't get their life story! ... answer is No. We are taking a leaf out of our friends, Zoe and Jon's book and doing Alaska by land. After a couple of days in Seattle, we fly to Anchorage then tour the Kenai Peninsula (south and slightly to the east of Anchorage). Then we travel the whole length of the Alaska railroad from Seward to Fairbanks stopping off for a bit of backcountry trekking in Denali national park. It is more of a journey than a holiday but I have wanted to go to Alaska all my life ...

... out to Wassenaar with Dustin, a guy I met in Bruge. It took us about 3-4 hours to go there and back and was quite a nice ride mostly part of it along the coastline. I quite possibly had one of the best burgers I've had on this trip in Wassenaar, man was that tasty (and to be clear I was sober at the time)! The weather was nice only for one of the days, but overall it was still a pretty relaxing place to be anyways.
