Breakfast in room, walked to train station to see about a trip to Le Cerque, decided not to go, walked to Old Town of Geneva, caught the tram to Plan De Palais, trash & trivia market, then cheese fondue and Vin Chaud (mulled wine) for ...

Breakfast in room, picked up our tickets from the train station and changed some money from CHF to Euro. Walked to lake Geneva, took a boat ride on the lake - very cold out on the lake. Lunch at Burette Les Bains, a hidden gem on Lake Geneva. Walked to Old Geneva Town then back to our room for a ...

On Friday we went to Nyon, a beautiful town near Lake Geneva. There we took the boat to visit Yvoire, a medieval town in France. So I even visited a country I didn't plan on visiting. Luckily I didn't have to go trough customs like on the airport. ;-)
Not much else to write about for this day. We took it easy. (If you can call sitting in a car for over 3 hours 'easy'. ;-) )

... the peasants quarters. Although we went a roundabout route Yvoire is only 30min by boat & where I put my first foot on French soil. Has 700yrs of history with ramparts, the fortified gates & the impressive 14th Century castle. Described as one of the most beautiful medieval ...

... headed there and were not disappointed. Yvoire was a peaceful, small cobble stoned village right on the lake. We found a lovely hotel, had dinner there and had time to go for a walk around the village and lake front afterwards. We thought of staying here again on our return trip to Geneva in mid-June but the hotel was all booked out at this time. We will need to decide on another location and book it soon it seems.
