... dune at the end of the day was lots harder.
The third day we headed into Bordeaux. It was so hot, about 37 degrees, but such a beautiful city. We were going to do the 70 minute bus or 60 minute guided train around the city but found a map and decided to do our own tour with Jim reading the map and me taking the photos, perfect.

We are in a camp ground under big old pine trees looking out over the Atlantic Ocean and para gliders everywhere were swooping back and forth catching the thermal uplifts. ... to the airport in Montreal we stopped in briefly at Casselman where we saw Linda, Dave and Mark pull in just as we were pulling out. I guess I missed the memo about dressing up; Dave was wearing a proper shirt with a bow tie. Looked good.

... some discussion, and advice that it was only a 15-minute walk, we set off with our baggage and bikes and the airport luggage carts to walk. That was certainly an adventure as we struggled through a couple of ditches and negotiated a couple of roundabouts which were not intended for pedestrians.

... my ankle, wrist and derriare before I could get in the van. As a result the next day was declared a washing day. It needed doing because my keks were chasing my socks around the van and threatening them.
As a result I have lovely clean clothes but didn't get another paddle. There will be other opportunities I'm sure.
Having time to contemplate I realised I've been in France for nearly 2 weeks and really should crack on, so I trundled steadily ...
