Thought I should take advantage of the free wifi that actually works at this wonderful bar in Biarritz! Wonderful because it's got 20 great beers on tap.. To update from the last entry, a huge thunderstorm in the night meant I had to race out in me shreddies at 6.35am to wind in the awning before I set sail for a second time across the lake in the van. ... been spotless since the aquaplaning incident. Thought I'd have a look at Cap Ferret at the bay of Arachon. Why? because it sounds cool.. It was very pleasant but whilst looking across the inlet I noticed this almighty mountain of sand! Checked the map and sussed it was the Dune of Pilat. Google it - it's pretty amazing, god knows how it came to be there. While I was there I caught the most magnificent sunset - took pics but haven't done it justice. ...

... or so. Not very busy as I walked in. Very cute waitress who didn't speak English, she got the guy who spoke English a little. Ordered salad with tomato and lettuce and mozzarella. And then spaghetti with tomato sauce and basil. Ordered a local beer too, good stuff. Cheaper than that imported ****. Came with lots of parm and pepper. Place got super busy by the time I left. Good evening, Yesterday evening I arrived in Bordeaux on the train from Paris. I was expecting quaint wine town, but was disappointed to find sketchy, drunken college town.
