So it was a day of travel. As slow as we went at the beginning of our trip in France we are now on the motorways winging our way towards Calais. We wouldn't be hurrying except I advertised the Beast in Gumtree and the response was a little crazy. We have four buyers wanting it now and there are two are willing to pay before seeing the van! We were blessed with a safe trip, lots of great memories, and tons of photos, but after 75 days, over 7,000 miles and 64 passes, we were ready to head home. Apart from a squeaky wheel which is getting our attention, if not our investigation, we arrived intact at a campsite just 2km from the centre of Colmar. For €14 this was a bargain, so we may well stay for a couple of nights. Once again, the rain abated late in the day, so the BBQ ...

... pirate - tattoos and all. When he spotted me looking at him, he made a sign I didn't recognize, but that seemed to carry with it some kind of omen. I can be sure that it wasn't meant in friendship, as the sign was accompanied by what I took to be a stream of invective. After that, I only saw him one more time, as he re-boarded the coach he'd arrived on, and headed back for the boat. Once at the boat, both men disappeared and weren't to be seen again. As I said - amazing! ...
