... hedges 12 feet high so no ad hoc conversations in many different versions of the same language with the neighbours. Whilst it looks very well kept a severe cutback would be better although I suspect they are the height they are to protect from the sun in summer, talking about the sun the forecast is clear blue skies which we have, and 24 degrees, currently 18 with the sun coming over the hills.

Oh I must mention that my navigator managed to get us through the middle ...

We were up, packed up and ready to leave by 8.30 this morning!!! No alarm was necessary as the dutchy caravan and family behind us decided to start packing up and left by 7.30!! We made our way to Laguiole to buy knives (of course). We checked out a few options and then had some lunch. The first restaurant was like a massive, airless food hall that kept on going and going. We left and ended up in another where the waiter was abrupt, but the steak was good. We walked up to the forges to see where the famous knives were made. After a long and tiring journey we arrived at our campsite. Weather is lovely so went for an uphill walk in the evening. Just enjoying a beer in the bar now. Day by the pool tomorrow me thinks. The Puy de Dome district is an area of extinct volcanoes in the southern part of France. We stayed at a village perched on the side of a rocky steep hillside called Saint Nectaire. It is famous for its certain types of cheese and they had a cheese shop there to try it.
