Still in France we head to the Loire valley to the castle of Chenonceau the home of Diane de Poitiers (tragic mistress of Henri ll) and later of his vengeful wife Catherine of Medici. The Castle had wonderful gardens and a large maze to get lost in. We continue on the coach and cross ...

Laura, Iain and Sophia's last night before the ferry home and Steve arrived, looking tired until a few red wines were sunk..! We visited Parthenay where the young family went swimming and I later heard all about the pitfalls of a young child and that swimming pools, swimming costumes and baby sick don't mix... Thanks Laura!!! Parthenay was an old town worth a visit and we were lucky as a local craft fair was in full swing as we walked through the old part of ...
