We only have one full day in Bonifacio, arriving late yesterday afternoon, and leaving tomorrow morning for a couple of days in the northern mountains of Corsica. So today had to be the day we experienced as much as we could. We had checked out boat tours (no name tags, no numbered stickers on our shirts!!) to get have a look at Bonifacio from the water. There are a multitude of tours to pick from, some all-dayer's ...

... what they were eating, what did it sound like??? We had plenty of space to wander around and be amazed by this place, only a few other people there and no tour groups. From there we drove on only short distance to the ferry terminal. What a beautiful place. The harbour is a quite narrow entrance between great rocky granite cliffs. A nervous drive hoping the kids wouldnt get sick! We were rewarded with gorgeous mountain villages. The scenery was spectacular & ...

... we would both love to have had more time to explore beyond this area to the real Sardinia. And, we agree, it would be horrendous here in peak season. Arrived back at the hotel around 4pm, sat around the pool for awhile, then off to dinner. Leaving Sardinia tomorrow for Corscia, cant wait, hope the weather holds! Oh, the waiter at the dinner restaurant told us all the restaurants close at the end of October and open at ...

... In yet another place, we could easily have been in Cradle Mountain National Park - complete with Cradle Mountain. The roads are so much better here too - wider, and a lot less traffic, more like Oz than Italy. We could both easily spend a lot more time here and regret that we only have a few days. It is such a big island, with so much to see and do! There are some quite remarkable prehistoric tombs and remnants ...
