... out their own supplies and one lady who had been over to see us using Skype (she had spoken to Jean and Tony) gave us a bottle of beer each, then she came back a little later with two more bottles! WE LIKE THE DUTCH.
It was a really happy atmosphere which everyone enjoyed. We will do a lot of washing tomorrow then off into Arnhem.

We had a lovely smooth crossing, but as it was cold outside the only seat available inside where near the kids area, not a problem as we were able to watch Toy Story 3 on the TV. The only disaster we had was when I dragged a massive glass door over my foot on the way back from the toilets.....boy did it bleed! Our first aid kit was in the car so Gary when off to find the first aid officer on board.

NYE in Gouda!
Swapped trains again in Rotterdam, messages switched back to solely Dutch so I had to watch closely. Along the way I found what I thought were suburbs that were criss-crossed with small canals. Everyone with a backyard had it lined on at least one side by a canal. Reached Gouda. First thing I thought when I stepped out of the station was 'WOW! That is a lot of bikes'. Discovering rural Holland
The day started early this morning. 5am. Yeah, that early. The reason is that Rens' stepfather was sent out on a mission to the Netherlands, and he could drop me somewhere behind the border, his duty taking him more to the coast. He was super nice and a really interesting person.
