... headed back out. Our hotel is right by a square called Rudolfplatz, which we thought was appropriate given that there was a Christmas market right there. Behind it was a weird but pretty gate with turrets on either side. We went to the Christmas market at Rudolfplatz for a schnitzel sandwich and a Gluhwein for a late lunch

... the Rudolfplatz xmas markets.. every xmas market has it's own theme, in it's decor, foods etc.. all distinctively different so one never tires looking at more & more xmas , foods, sights etc.
Being "zero"!! degrees at 12 noon, and a light snow falling !!.. a visit into some of the surrounding department stores to warm up and thaw out is required. Good old Starbucks saves the day many times.. Brisk walking is the ...

... cynic like me can feel the spirit of Christmas percolating in the air as I sip mulled wine in the frosty evening whilst choirs singing carols echo in the distance and children skate in the ice rink.
