Day 48: Rest day, Completion of the Rhein Route

Distance: 0km Weather: cloudy but warm Today our task was simple, to get to the start of the Rhein, which our guidebook says is the lake Lai da Tuma. This meant we had to get back to Oberalppass but instead of cycling back up the 700m hill, we took the cog train. ... closed for maintenance. From there on the route started climbing gently. It then got gradually steeper until we had to drop down to Granny Gear (the slowest gear on our bikes). After a few kilometres of this the route opened up and revealed that we were high above huge gorges with the the Rhein far down below.
