      ... for them ever since.

      Only a couple of weeks ago I got informed about a volunteer position onboard the Africa Mercy, i.e. as a Media Liaison Officer. After having discussed this situation with my current employer, I decided to go for it! After the selection procedure, I got the official letter of acceptance: I would serve on the Africa Mercy from Jan - June. A new year, a new adventure!

      I only had one month to get everything sorted ...

      ... had to head back up the hill in the dark and drive home on the freezing roads. Our little VW Golf made the ride home more comfortable due to the temperature controlled seat warmers. Warm tushies = happy Arizonans. Once home we had another hot chocolate and ate some of the cookies we had bought at a market stand offering samples. Yup, they got us and we couldn't be happier.

      Ignoring the typical grey sky of a North German autumn we headed out to the spectacular town of Monschau which was established about 1000 years ago. On the way we passed through Holland and Belgium to reach this small German town, an experience that is incomprehensible to an Australian mindset.

      To and Huget both had to go to work, so we had a slow start and then drove to Holland! Maastricht, home of André Rieu! Had a lovely day walking around the two market squares, the food and clothes market stalls and then had lunch watching the people walk by. No churches, museums or art galleries today.
