... run down and not loved as much. Fed and watered and off we go. 15.20 hrs made good time. Arrived tired. Oh oh. Lourdes has been taken over by cheap and cheerful tacky shops and disgusting cafes. What a sham. So many people believing in the legend of this place. All here for hope, to pray and cure. Wouldn't want to burst their bubble but? Words fail ...

Not too long after a nice lil ride, oh and is a nice day too.....we take a turn to the left up a road and I look at my gps...all I see is curves...I look at the pavement....its perdyyyyyy. ... a shrine to Mr Arbes; a number of great professional cyclists from years past were dropping by to shake hands with him. Turns out they were in town for the start of the "Route du sud" event of the Tour de France which was taking place in Lourdes at 11am. At 10:30 they closed shop to support the tour. I was left in the parking lot with the monolith.

Then a miracle happened. A young fellow saw what I was doing and asked if he could help. It turns out Benoit owns a bike shop in town that deals Trek bikes, and he also regularly receives shipments of bikes from a small manufacturer in Bromont.
