We arrived early into the port city of Ajaccio Corsica. Mountains cover the majority of this island in the middle of the Mediterranean. 01/09/13.After a wander along the the marina we headed for our new home for the next 7 days. This accom is fabulous & we couldn't be happier with the whole package. It is SO clean, spacious, well appointed, & we are on the third floor with pool & mountain views. Too beautiful!!! It feels like we can really stop, take stock, relax & enjoy being home for a wk. ... from a distance, & even more gorgeous up close. It is very touristy, but the quality of the merchandise is something else. The town is a work of art in every way. It is beautifully maintained & clearly cherished by the community. The paving is gorgeous & actually quite new in comparison to the ancient village, but the mosaic pattern used is traditional to the area. After a couple of hrs we were pretty arted out! ... and Lina to follow me all over europe. Niiice! However, we ended up in Porto-Vecchio, a nice little town down in the south east. We went to a really nice beach there for a few hours and then we went back to town for dinner. 14th of july is the french national day, so the town was busy and there was live music, fireworks and a big party going on.
