... almost 5 languages... At any rate, it turns out the Dutch are known for certain culinary traditions. Perhaps one of the best known is the lunch/dinner savory pancake. I ordered one of these pancakes from a list of about 20 different kinds at 'Het Zwaantje' with a big glass of Belgian beer.
The menu was in Dutch so our meal had to be delayed while Erika's request for an English menu was searched for, discovered, and then grudgingly brought to the table. I ...

Of course, they still don’t care, and I guess I better get used to the new ways of the old world. It could be worse.

At least the streets in Deventer have been festively decorated to greet summer (hence the umbrellas).Oh, enjoy the rest of your day-- Prettige dag verder!

In fact, we spent 2 days in Berlin (3 nights) and which gave me the chance for me to show Nick things that he hadn’t seen before and also for both of us to see what was new since my last visit in 2008.

We were also very lucky with the weather, as it was glorious summer weather whilst we were there. Thankfully, due to ...

    ... beautiful city.

The houses in Amsterdam are beautiful... But crooked, they all look like
they're about to fall over... Walking around in the red light district
there are half naked girls in every second window and a coffee shop on
every corner... Beer is cheap, food prices ok and they absolutely love
their pastry shops... :) All in all a very nice trip to Amsterdam.
