Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany garretaIt was sooooo cold in Frankfurt, we didn't want to spend much time here since we had no winter clothing. WE got in late, went to our hotel, then back to the airport to get our flight to Bangkok moved up. We though it would be at 8 that night, but they managed to get us on the next flight out, which was pretty much within the hour. Woohooo! I also kept speaking Italian in Germany... so confused with all the languages.
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany sofenjon... to me, switching to English when she figured my smile and nodding for what it was, said she'd lived there for 50 years but loved that magical moments like that still came around.

I left the magical moment up top and ventured to a drearier place, the Studeten Karzen. To boil it down, students who acted up were locked away in five upper rooms with no kitchen or running water for a few weeks. Looks as ...
Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany wilwayco... returns and I was allowed to enter the holding pen. This very different from the US. You cannot enter the "waiting area" near the gate until the ticket agents open the area and you make it through the proces mentioned above. Then you sit and wait an hour while ticket agents random check your bag sizes trying to force you to "check" the carry on. Then you line up in the same non-orderly fashion to board another cold bus ride to the ...
Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany dsauter... the hookers seemed to still be waiting for the American GI’s. It was raining and dreary, but soon to change when Erik’s cousin, Nadine, and boyfriend, Flo, picked us up to take us to their home town outside the big city near the Tanus Mountains. We had a wonderful visit, them taking us to a traditional German restaurant where we tasted fresh apple wine. We topped it off with a visit to their apartment. What a great way to end the trip!

Zwingenberg, Hesse, Germany nomads06... a Church with a basement, souvenir shops, a few restaurants, an Art Museum and a GIANT Christmas Tree! We took some photos of the Xmas tree and decided to go have a look at the Art Museum. We are in europe so there is no knowing what famous art might be around! It just so happens that today was our lucky day! There was an exhibition of alot of work by Picasso. We quickly decided we have to go and have a look at this! It cost us 6 Euros each and up we went. Frankfurt, Germany jamie_annekaWell not quite bankrupt but sufficiently so for us to start making our way home. We've got the plane tickets re-routed and are missing out India for the time being, only for the time being mind! We arrived in Frankfurt to a rude awakening, it was cold -2c to be precise and having being used to the high 20's flip flops weren't going to fit the bill. Fortunately knowing that there was a 7hr gain and a ...
