... of course), and a pillow for 107 Euro. About as good a deal as I could get!
I was thinking about trying to get the mattress on the bus, because I couldn't get ahold of Nil on her cell phone, but then luckily I reached her at home. She immediately came to the mattress store and helped me load the purchases in the car. I thanked her up and down, needless to say. She then had to go to a meeting so I took the bus home. I sat next to this ...
... ideas about what to change about the world as a class. Tomorrow we will work individually and the students will begin writing their chapters.
I actually wasn't nervous today, even though it was my first time teaching alone here. I think my experience with student teaching really helps this. I can't imagine having no teaching experience and getting up there by myself. I would be like a deer in headlights!

... They told us we were at the highest point in Belgium, which was somewhere in the Nature Park.
We decided to call it a day for the roadbook, and make a detour to just get into Luxembourg for fuel, and to make sure we 'did' all the countries.
Looking back that detour cost us some time, but did mean we visited Luxembourg, even if it was too dark to see it.
Once in Elsloo, we stopped to find postcards (having completely missed the observations again), only to find that the only card shop was closed that afternoon.
Up the road a bit, and Kieran was dropping a card into the door of a Landy enthusiast they had met on the recce. The guy turned up at that moment, and so we were invited in for a refreshing cold drink. The Landyprikkers overtook us at that point, and went on their way. We then ...
... time. That means that some people were eating while other people were done. It was weird, because they knew we were coming and we even had our food pre-ordered, so they knew what dishes to make. I guess it was because we were such a large group, about 80 people.
After lunch we took a walking tour of the city. They split our large group into three smaller groups to make it more managable. The city is ...
... then I will really not know anyone, but it will come soon enough (only my 12th day).
So now I am at school. Things are much different here. The teachers don’t have their own classrooms, they move around like the students do in the US. Sometimes you will see a teacher will a cart with all of her/his materials, or they will just be carrying them. I was supposed to see an English class, but they were taking a test ...
We 'trundled down past Maastricht towards Germany. The deviations were big ones but we still were able to make good time! The scenery was worth the deviations though. We past by some wonderful little towns and river gorges. Very nice bit of countryside. Will have to return there sometime, God willing!
... that way!´. I found this fascinating. That the people in this pub lived in a different country from their neighbours, had a different government, different constitution, from those on the other side of the street. I tried asking them about it, whether it matters which side of the street you live on, what the differences are, but the conversation was now being held simoultaneously in French, German and English, depending on who was involved. Its hard enough to ...
Aachen, Germany dynamo... friend, Tina, would eventually invite me to sleep at her and her husband's house, find out I traveled by hitchhiking five minutes later, and then five minutes after that ask where I planned to camp. Tina also amused her friends by pulling down her black blouse to show sexy cleavage as she posed for a picture with me. In the simple wooden bar, I drank beer from a glass while many of Wilma and Tina's friends joked around me in powerful German. A twenty-nine-year-old red ...
