... we stopped at a store and got some inexpensive wine which we decided to enjoy on the beautiful rooftop terrace garden at our hostel in order to be more economical. The view from the terrace at night was amazing and there was no one else up there- I think we were the only ones who knew about it! You could see all of the Zurich buildings lit up at night without any obstruction- overall the cities in Europe do not have very tall buildings. After this we headed to a recommended fondue ...
Zurich, Switzerland jenfifi... money, and still stick by that rule, but I feel so guilty afterwards. Then you question if they really are homeless or just lazy. It's hard to know what to do. Anyways, the Leaning Tower of Pisa was pretty sweet. It sure is leaning. hahaha. There were lots of tourists around this area as well. There is also a church, a museum, and a baptistery by the tower. We walked around the area and took a few photos of us pretending to be holding it up. (You'll also see this is my photo ...
Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland pianoandguitars... appearance , Beat snapping away photos so they could re-live the comedy in future months. The lovely 10 yr old, Patrick did his best to try and make me feel like less of a spastic by insisting that i looked really cool up on the bike in my "biker" uniform. But the uncontrollable giggling coming from the adults told me otherwise. Bless his little cotton socks for trying though! So off we roared, laughter fading in the distance, and headed for Emental for a beautiful drive ...
Murzelen, Switzerland shazzasheila... Their neighbor works for Lindt and is responsible for creating new chocolate flavors.) The walk home was filled with CRAZY Swiss fans honking their horns and engaging in drunken revelry. Fun. These Europeans sure do know how to have fun. Oh, and the stars here - simply lovely. Tomorrow looks to be another chill day in Switzerland. More to come! p.s. - I had bread and cheese for breakfast....again. And a square salami stick. p.p.s - I'll try and make these entries shorter from now on?
Thun, Switzerland miranda.chen... around and sampled their chocolate which was really good.. but I have to say, my loyalty lies with Hersey's chocolate. Anyway, it was a nice city but it was raining the day I was there, so I wasn't to happy and at that point I was ready to come home and get some rest. I was pretty beat up from the alps and skiing so I was ready for rest. The shopping is something I did for myself ...
Zurich, Switzerland renny31The first day Petria was in Thun, Karin and I showed her around the city like good little hosts. The next couple of days Petria and I didn't do much other than sleep, catch up on the last year and eat (lots of) chocolate - blocks of chocolate, hot chocolate, cold chocolate, chocolate yogurt (on muesli) and anything else that slightly resembled chocolate. One day we did venture out and went to a mountain. The Jungfrau, we caught a train to the highest ...
Thun, Switzerland haylie... Luzern remained Catholic throughout the Reformation and, like much of the country, was ruled by patrician families up until the late eighteenth-century revolutions. The early nineteenth-century quarrels in politics and religion led to civil war, with Luzern at the heart of the Catholic rebel Sonderbund- an association which, after Confederate forces had reasserted their control in 1847, led to Luzern being passed over for the choice of federal capital. By this ...

Thun, Switzerland roman... free time to shop for Swiss souvenirs. We walked around most of the day. Unfortunatley, the day was scorching hot. At night, we wanted to open the windows to get some cool air into the room but were unable to because all of the mosquitos were rushing in. What could we do?
