... cycle path. This is a converted railway line that we will bike for 2 days from Olot to Sant Feliu de Guíxols, which is a total distance of 97km. Today we rode this trail from Olot to Griona with a total cycling distance of 61km. The trail started in Olot with a spectacular narrow canyon that had hanging vines and stone bridges. Pine trees that are typical of the region and we entered the area for Fitou wine. Sat nav took us up a tiny lane and by the time I decided 'no', we were stuck. So Smartie had to be disconnected - single track road - obviously someone ...

Girona

A quick stop on the way to Barcelona was Girona, a recommendation in the guide books for its medieval centre. We left the van parked in the baking sun while we took our customary walk in the hottest part of the day to look around, and it was certainly worth a stop. The centre is a collection of alleys, bridges, shops, cafés and churches - enough to entertain us for an hour or 2. The kids found a great sweet shop, and we managed to pick up the customary stickers for the van as ...
