... a wine town and even has vines growing on its roundabouts on the outskirts. This is a town that should not be missed by anyone visiting France. We visited the Notre Dame Basilica (meaning that I did attend church on Good Friday) with its Black Madonna from the Middle Ages. Also the very impressive Ducal Palace or Dukes residence which is now a Museum of Bourgogne Wines. The most impressive building was the Hospices or Hotel-Dieu (Gods House) ...

Last section 300m long; and used to be 52kms. Hard to believe that humans built it, and 2,500 years ago. Then drove in a round about fashion out west, ending in ...

... the 12th and 13th centuries. It is a nice church, but nothing as amazing as we have been seeing. We walked around old Beaune and stopped for a couple of beers. On the way back to our hotel, we stopped at an Italian restaurant for some dinner. Tomorrow, we are driving on a couple of wine tours around Beaune. Hopefully we can get some nice pictures of the vineyards in the countryside. ...
