Shopping!

Today was eventful yet relaxing. We just walked around this town that had tons of history and shops and was just great. I bought some new jeans and a shirt and found some things that i only wish i had the money to buy! We got a can of Dr. Pepper, which you can't find anywhere by the way, for 2 euros which is like $3.50 or something. Karen keeps getting ...

... things. Said to me, "this isn't like a regular place, you have to bring a dog to keep the other dog happy, yell at the children, dust off some rocks, and move a light around." Bahahaha! Jesus, what a riot. Anyway, i'm going to Paris in the mornin and will return in a couple days. Won't be computing then but there'll be plenty of pics afterwards. Au revoir mon amis!!

Day Seized!

... so cool. I put up a few pics here. I feel bad for everyone in freezing cold Nebraska! Don't worry i'll be back to suffer with you soon enough. I spent way too long without internet and thought i was gonna die, but now that i know where to get it from i'm good to go. I'll be traveling into Bergerac tomorrow to check out the small town stuff and see what fun the town has to offer.

Relaxing in the French Sunshine

... with its stone old church and pretty shuttered houses. But most of the time was spent under the cherry tree- and what a great spot that is. I could have done with a little more of the same, but, with a busy week ahead of catching up with friends, I had to board a flight back to London, which, after my French escape, seemed all the more crowded, dirty, and smelly! .

Day 17 - Back on Bike

Distance covered: 15 miles

Well we originally had planned to leave fairly early in the morning but these plans were destroyed by not being able to part with the swimming pool and spending time kicking the hacky sack with Winston (who turns out to be a football legend). We finally left around 6pm. Cycled a few miles, found a nice wood and slept in just the inner sheets of the tents. The sky was so clear you could see the milky way. Although not luxurious, this was certainly a paradise.

Day 14, 15, 16 - PARADISE

... a swimming pool, a table, and most importantly a shower waiting for us was more than a highlight.

After showing twice we had a quick look around the house we got to stay in for free, courtesy of Alex's parents (Diane and Chris) and their friends (Winston and Linda). The place was truly amazing and after a huge meal (with plates!) we retired stunned by the generousity of our ...

Seems like I'm the only one still trying to figure things out, but hey, good luck to them, really and truly. I'll just have to get the new names right and pray they will last for a while.

ant-agonizing

... he, he knows I have a thing for ants.
There is a busy trickle of them now, climbing up the table leg, scurrying across the surface, in a straight line, as ants do. I start to study them; going back and forth, some seem to briefly connect or check each other out before continuing on their way to the killing fields.
Once there, they halt and then daintily pick their way through the bodies. Stopping every now and then, maybe someone ...

Road trip from Biarritz

Stayed here in Biarritz - thought we would treat ourselves after the rough camping. Very nice indeed! LUXURY indeed.

Sandra (Part Five)

... for a while. Now, her father had liked us - he was a teacher and we'd bantered about the education system with him so he obviously thought we were pretty stand up guys. Not quite good enough to abduct his daughter and mess up his entire holiday plans of course. We made our excuses and went to bed. The next morning, the atmosphere could best be described as 'tense'. We tried to stay hidden in our tent for as long as ...
