... prehistoric sites, but, due to the French's love of lunchtime closures, our timing seemed wrong all around! However, the town is not to be daunted by reality and statues of Cyrano, avec le grand nez prominent, pop up in squares and 'places' throughout, particularly in the lovely place de la Mirpe where he gazes up at Roxanne, and the place Pelissiere, looking at the church (which he likely never attended!)! After leaving here, we decided to go to La Roque Saint Christophe. It is a very impressive natural rock structure overlooking a tranquil section of the River Vézère and it houses the remains of a large 'troglodyte' town. ... bacon omelette served with salad. After our meal Brad went to a tempting ice cream shop and had an ice cream cone with one scoop of raspberry and one scoop of hazelnut ice cream - he enjoyed his dessert! We had only a short distance to walk from the restaurant and we were home by 9 pm.

We intend to leave by 8am tomorrow to visit a cave and also see some more areas of the Dordogne as it is our last full day in this region, oh ...
