The weather has been getting more temperate as we move north - still lovely and warm, but without the stifling humidity we had further south. It was 26 degrees when we arrived in the Saumur area. Our overnight stop is another France Passion site: and of course it is - what else - a winery! ... we were warmly greeted. They are both from Dutch backgrounds but speak excellent English, so that was great. Sitting on the rear balcony, with some gentle rain on the rooftop, we enjoyed discussing a range of topics. It was interesting to note there was an owl on their neighbour's roof at 5:00pm in the afternoon. It was most relaxing and the conversation flowed easily.
