We arrived in the Dordogne after a very long drive and it was super hot. As soon as we unpacked the car we ran to the pool eager to cool off. That night for dinner we headed into the nearest town - Limeuil - ten minutes away. The town is really old but very cool. It is cobblestoned and dewey, complete with a glass-blowing shop. Whilst staying in this area I saw some lizard orchids which must be one of the oddest plants and look even stranger in real life than in the books. I also had a close encounter with some ...

... men. We shared a single bathroom that had a door that didn’t lock…not very comfortable. I would also like to say that men have a freedom I just don’t have as a woman. Every time I share a room with men, they strip down to their underwear to wash their clothes, then they sleep in their underwear and walk around the refuge like this. I, however, do not really have the option of stripping down to my underwear in a room full of men and walking around like ...
