... Yarraville, someone would call the cops. Here, you can beat the hell out of them – but only within reason according to Julia. Near Brantôme there is a farm where they keep retired (read rescued) British Police horses. The kids have been loving the donkey rides and feeding here, thanks greatly to Julia’s patience and generosity and were keen to see the horses. They do an afternoon tea with a talk about the horses, and all their heroics, and the work they do ...

Ironically the media area was cordoned off by high fences and security ...

We retreated to the car after the caravan had passed, until the riders came through. We stopped in carlux for dinner and were treated to another great sunset! A wet, but great ...

... up the beach. Then . . . the kids stated collecting shells and played beautifully for an hour or so. Turned out to be a great afternoon; they had a good time, I had a good time, and no doubt Jo had a good time! * * * Tonight we thought that we would go to the Belvés Marche Nocturnes. It began to spit a little as we got ready to go out and the thunder rolled across the valley. But the sun was still out and it was still very warm. Away we went. Tom, the handy-guy for ...
