      ... the bottom of the gorge where it flows into the lake, and the road rises up from there, to a maximum of around 1000m elevation. The views are quite literally out of this world. Stunningly spectacular. The road continues to the other end, going low into the gorge again, crossing the Verdon river, then rising once more.
