Today was eventful yet relaxing. We just walked around this town that had tons of history and shops and was just great. I bought some new jeans and a shirt and found some things that i only wish i had the money to buy! Well it's finally happened! I'm in France! After 10 hours of 3 flights and an hour drive, i'm in my new residence and have been fed to the max. A home cooked meal was certainly what i needed after all the **** i consumed on the flights. I'm surrounded by endless grape vines and amazing scenery. It's like 70 degrees here and so nice. Left the beauty and quiet of the canal for the hectic noise of Tolouse. Entering in, we came with the canal along the train tracks. I was amazed at the creativity of the graffiti everywhere. Not just tagging, but artistic pictures. I always wanted to include graffiti in some of my art classes, but wasn’t sure about parental reactions.

We spent the entire afternoon canoeing down the Dordogne. We packed a lunch and found a nice spot along the river to enjoy some wine and cheese. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Every couple of Kilometers was anothe castle overlooking the river. The river was so flat that we could just float along and enjoy the view.

From the cousins house we moved further west to Neils parents house. They have a place in a beautiful old town. It is an old walled vilage on the hilltop overlooking the valley. The village is full of cobblestone streets, windy narrow alleys and cute little homes. We ate great meals, enjoyed excellent wine and spent time with Neils parents. thank you again for hosting us!

... we spend time pottering around Petit Nivelle. Duncan returns the hire car and I have started getting Moby packed for the return trip. Fingers crossed we will make it back with no mishaps. Always a bittersweet time as it has been lovely for us to spend time with Granny and Grandad, but thinking ahead we are keen to set off on the last leg of our European adventure.

Stayed here in Biarritz - thought we would treat ourselves after the rough camping. Very nice indeed! LUXURY indeed.
