What a great way to close out our last evening in Gers with fine food, wine, Armagnac and the best of ...

... came down sternly on the table with a bang, "Non! Not yet". We were all frozen and no one dared to make any move until permission was given. Floriane had the room under full control and her watchful eye.

    1. 1998 - 100% Ugni blanc 44%
Much darker in colour than the other Armagnacs we had sampled so far. Vanilla, nuttiness, creamy and with some sweet spice on the nose. Smooth palate which went through caramel into a ...

... was film and flavoursome with the earthy chestnut and creamy sauce also delicious. Not usually one for deserts, I was delighted with my floating island on is creamy sea - managed to get a photo just before my Kumquat fell off! All of these dishes were beautifully infused with hits of black truffle with skill and finesse preventing them being over dominated. A memorable meal.

The meal was accompanied by some local wines - A Colombard 2013 and ...
