Our overall impression of Bruges is that it's a lovely town and we'd definitely come back. I even imagined myself living here with my own little bike.. But I'd probably end up with legs like Chris Hoy if I did that, so maybe it's not the best ...
... are talking about a country that is famous for its beer, chocolate and waffles. I must be partially dutch because this ticks all of my boxes! I'll have to buy a new shirt after the steady drool from my mouth today dribbled onto my chest. So much wonderful food and smells! Oh the scents of fresh waffles and delicious sweets...
... Heidelberg we hit the road to Burg Eltz Castle further north. Instead of the Autobahn we opted for driving up the Rhine (Rhein) River, which has the most castles in a single area in the world. And yes- we saw tons!! Just hanging out above the river. A very beautiful drive. We happened on a small village called St. Goar and found an old castle ruin. It was open to the public for paid self-tours. It was so cool because you got to ...
... tours so it is quite touristy. That being said things are definitely cheaper here than in Brussels. Food, drinks and souvenirs are all slightly cheaper which is excellent!
Anyway strolling and shopping is pretty much all we did other than watch the Olympics! GO AUSTRALIA!!! (And if Australia isn't doing well, team GB!!!)
