Going Dutch at the national park

A travel blog entry by ric_cheetham on Jul 11, 2015

We had a great stop off at De Hoge Veluwe national park where we borrowed some free white Dutch bikes, proper ones without brakes and went for a very enjoyable ride through the park. They are like riding grown up sized choppers. Also finally had some apple cake and went to a museum to get some culture, it was about animals living underground, not that cultural but ...

A quick stop in Zwolle for lunch at Bagels and Beans which I thought was a huge chain that was everywhere but Kat informs me there are only 3 and we just happened to go to the right places. parking was an ****, everywhere only takes Maestro cards and the only places that take coins are a 1hr max or too low for the van, that's why the stop was so ...

... and got delightful girl who was most helpful. It was mega pricey (43 Euros for just one night) but we knew it would be that much and were confident it would be worth the spend. There are loads of campsites on the outskirts of the Park but we wanted the experience of actually staying within the fences. Dinner was tasty bbq with citronella! Jon cooked as I wrote some postcards. We watched Blindside the movie after dins. It was very teary but a great ...

    Saturday 21st August

Today was a slow day we cleaned out the car and re packed our bags and kept an eye on the internet who the next government will be in Australia, of the votes are in and there is 1 seat between them. Who will it be, no one can tell us?

We got the bikes and went for a ride into town to have a ride and a last look ...
