... down, we took the old funicular railway, one of Fribourg's historical monuments and curiosities. It would have been faster to take the stairs, but I had told the kids about this 100 year old mechanical marvel that, to this day, still runs on counterweight and sewage water. The kids were fascinated, and it was definitely worth experiencing the creaking and clattering of the old machine.

We don't get picked up till late in the afternoon tomorrow so have another day to explore this beautiful city, before heading back to our beloved Lauterbrunnen for one night. Can't wait!
