... bands playing on them and balloons light up. There was a fireworks display done to the beautiful blue Danube waltz, but it wasn't as straight forward as that. In the middle of the show some helicopters came and hovered over the show and all of the lights on the boats were extinguished, then they left and the show resumed with a more electronic version of the waltz. As soon as it was all over we sailed, around ...

Today we woke up in Passau - this is a small town at the confluence of 3 rivers - the Danube, the Inn and the Ilz and is very picturesque. The old city was destroyed by fires in the 16th and 17th centuries and rebuilt in the architecture craze at the time -Italian Baroque. ... of the city is St. Stevens Cathedral, which is home to the second largest pipe organ in the world, 17,734 pipes. This cathedral burnt down almost completely in the 1652 town fire and was rebuilt in the baroque style after the fire. It is beautifully decorated with frescoes inside and on the ceilings, all of which depict wonderful Biblical scenes. We enjoyed a 30 minute organ concert there, which filled every seat ...

... to Oktoberfest, which is called Goiboden festival, and celebrates agricultural abundance. Our guide reminded described the festivities to us, which sound just like the Munich Oktoberfest. Her description was that, “ e each drink several one liter mugs of beer and dance on the tables, sing together and have a great time”. Sounds like fun!
We drove about an hour north from the river and had a really nice visit to ...
