      ... very patient with other people in the car. Anyway we got there. The weather was not ideal for much exploring but did a quick look around and had lunch then onto Vaals. We arrived a bit late to go up the tower as it was running in winter closing hours but we got the idea.       ... As I am driving towards Bastogne, I noticed that rain seemed to be hitting my windshield rather "softly". I thought it might be snow, but nothing was on the ground. Then it happened. I saw some logs on the side of the road with snow on them! By the time I got to the sign that read "Bastogne" snow was covering the fields and coming down all around me. I was elated! I could not believe my luck!!

      ... you can hope for with a hand pump is about 60 PSI, when a bike like this cruises at 110. So normally, you ride low and slow, praying the damn thing won't pop again until you can find a gas station and an air compressor.

      Funny thing about the back roads of your Normandy countryside. Yeah, yeah, beautiful and green, but not a gas station anywhere. God what I would have given for a Chevron mini mart.
