... After a hairy ride down the mountain by Vincent, we took alook around the farm and said hi to Melanie's brother who was milking in the four a side fifty year old shed.(about to be replaced).
Milking 60 cows a day seemed so differnent compared to NZ approx herd size of 200 to 400 with some reaching a 1000. (perhaps why our rivers are polluted). We even tried some real milk from the cow. Thanks, Melanie, Vincent, Marc & David for a delightful day.

The view was amazing and words alone will struggle to provide an adequate description. The vistas made me ...

The huge massif and mountains that housed twisties and my destination rose out of the valley and could be seen from 150 km away, daunting indeed. Having stopped so frequently I now approached ...

We arrived in St-Jean-Pied-DePort and got our bags all shipped off. It was a beautiful thing to get rid of 65 pounds but there is no insurance or signature confirmation on shipping out here. Our electronics and about $3000 worth of gear is on a chance and hoping our karma keeps up with us. We made it to the pilgrim office and acquired our passports for the trail and overwhelmed ourselves with information and dread to what may lay ahead of ...
