... I soon learnt to look down when exiting the women's :-) Spent most of the day at different areas around the Sanctuary. It really is Disneyland for the religious. So many ancient beautiful buildings to look at. Lourdes is such a pretty town that I don't want to leave tomorrow :-( Dinner for just Miss and I tonight - Kevin all tuckered out and asleep already. We won't be far behind him. ......Miss and I NEED to stop eating ...

After lunch we travelled to Lourdes to the Hotel Grotte for the night. ...

Temperatures went from 17 in Lourdes to 32 north of Madrid. Crossed another range of mountains 100km North Madrid - Sistema Central. Not high but very rocky countryside. Got into Madrid at 4pm. So many apartments on the road in. Can't imagine living with a family ...

Looking forward now to going out for a walk with Peter, back for a meal and then off to join the procession to the Grotto at 9pm. Well, had our walk, inspiring place for all the souvenir shops and commercialism. Huge open spaces with every way possible for pilgrims and tourists ...

... am nearly a month later than last year with this and at least 6 weeks behind the UK. I’ll start sorting out the window boxes and tubs this weekend now that the frosts have stopped ( fingers crossed!). And in the middle of all of this, we have come up to the boat for a couple of days.

We haven’t been to the boat since November and we were a little anxious after last year’s break in about what we would find. However, apart from enough cobwebs to ...
