Hotel Restaurant Au Tilleul Colmar

We had spent a pleasant morning visiting Christmas Market in the greater Colmar area in the Alsace region of France. One town more pleasant than the next all decked out with lights and tinsle. In general we had a good day and the people were helpful and frendly.

Monday

I did feel terrible today hung over and feeling really dizzy again, I threw up again so not much going on for us today. I did manage to have a little walk to a market but it was not open and then we walked a bit more in Mulhouse its shocking ha ha. We have decided to go to the Autumn fair tomorrow so that should be a little bit more exciting sorry ha ha.

... got so,e food and I cooked a nice steak with pepper sauce. We were meant to be going to the Autumn Fair in Basel but we were too tired and both fell asleep really early. Our first impressions of the place we are at is that the hotel is nice but the area we are in is so rough with massive housing blocks and really rough looking estate people dont think i will be going out at night around here thats for sure.

Otra vez en Francia. En la rivera del alto Rhin Colmar es un ejemplo de ciudad medieval bien conservada, con casas de entramado estilo alsaciano y canales llenos de vida. Conserva perfectamente el ambiente urbano de las ciudades centroeuropeas que nacieron alrededor de las rutas comerciales.

... mais c'est déjà dépaysant. après le musée des Beaux Arts le Dimanche Matin, on profite d'un temps digne de celui que j'ai laissé sur Avignon pour aller prendre l'air et la verdure au parc Botanique et zoologique de Mulhouse qui vaut vraiment un détour.

Thurs 19th March A slow start as I needed to recover from yesterday. This was what I really came to Europe for. Freiburg was just the beginning of an awesome adventure for me. The mountains and the forest and the cake. We caught a cable car up to the top of the mountain and wandered in the snow. Got some great photos. We made Freiburg our base and toured a fair bit around the region. ... beautiful vineyards with grapes just waiting patiently for a picking. Once at our destination we were greeted with spectacular views of Ribeauville and the surrounding Alsace wine region. Vineyards as far as the eye could see. The pictures turned out great. Once we made it back to town we strolled the streets partaking in some wine tasting along the way.
