... Speaking French and Alsatian were forbidden - Alsatians were Germans. Nearly 50 years later, after WWI, Alsace was given to France. German and Alsatian were forbidden - Alsatians were French. In fact, in school the lessons had to be in French, even though few of the students, or their parents for that matter knew French. Imagine showing up to school one day and every lesson was in Croatian - crazy!

... for company. Above the fir trees sit patient clouds, though they weren't so patient when we arrived. Nice weather for...the beautifully coloured ducks that just skimmed across the top of the water in front of me. Two hours ago it was ******* down but now the sun shines brightly. It's that kind of terrain.

We are so sorry for not Blogging. After the puy du fou the real weeding was on. We played games and I won 4 packets of lollies. At the evening there was a Star Wars show on the wall and lots of fireworks, we a lot of fun that night!!! The next day we went to a little place where we got to ride on boats.
