... we managed to find a comfortable downtown hotel (don't remember it). We stepped out for some food, I had goulash soup and MJ had flammenkucheen. We shared a nice big salad. Tomorrow when we can see what is what we will do some exploring and capture the sights. We will of course report on the old stomping grounds!!!!

At some point we (we as in Stef) even had to climb a tree to get down some really good looking apples.
We followed the channel until the "Plan d' Eau". A really big, lakey reservoir where it's forbidden to camp.

As part of our weekend trip south, we set Freiburg im Breisgau as our
Saturday night destination. We arrived in the evening just before dark.
We stayed in a cute little hotel called Hotel Blume. It was about 10 km
away from the main heart of Freiburg, but it was one of the only hotels

It is a defensive tower built in 1291 in the first wall.The town had been surrounded by 2 walls, with a moat in between. Our apartment is between the remains of the 2 walls- so this time we could be living in a moat! Back to the Thieves Tower, the 18 metre high tower is pentagonal outside but square inside.
